About the project

Sculpt Studios was approached to digitally fabricate over 1200 m² of curvilinear interior walls and ceilings for 272 Hedges. This building is one of Australia’s premier contemporary architectural designs. Sculpt Studios initially worked with Contreras Earl Architecture, Fine Line interiors, Ornamental Plaster and Hutchinson Builders to work out the build methodology, breakdown of paneling, fabrication process and proof of concept.

During the build phase, Sculpt Studios was responsible for 5 Axis robot cnc milling the negative forms, or moulds, of the entire surface, ready for GRG application. The result is arguably the best high-rise foyer interior in Australia and forward look into the future of practical parametric design and construction.
