About The Project

The statue of former captain of the Australian Diamonds and Queensland Firebirds Laura Geitz was unveiled at its new home at the Queensland State Netball Centre (QSNC) on Sunday 19 May by Laura Geitz and The Hon. Mick de Brenni, Minister for Sport.

Created by Sculpt Studios, the statue was originally unveiled at the Brisbane Entertainment centre by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk but later moved to Brisbane’s new home of Netball. The statue is the first ever female sporting statue to be unveiled in Queensland.
